The Integration of Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) in
Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Programs was a comprehensive
initiative funded by the Van Leer Foundation (VLF), formerly known as the
Bernard van Leer Foundation. The project spanned over three years. During this
time, CCC-I provided critical technical SBC support to several initiatives,
including Urban 95, Parents+, NNC, and First 1000 Days. These projects aimed at
enhancing early childhood development through effective communication strategies.
The project focused on SBC backstopping support to design, implement, and evaluate communication interventions that strengthen early childhood development, supporting children during their crucial early years. As part of this initiative, CCC-I developed a comprehensive SBCC toolkit to guide the integration of SBC into the project cycle, offered capacity strengthening and training on SBC, and provided mentoring support to selected NNC cities. Technical SBC support was also provided through VLF partners.
